LM2575 step-down (buck) switching regulator
The LM2575 series regulators are designed to provide a reliable, reliable and efficient operation . These devices are available in 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and an adjustable output version.
The LM2575 series of regulators are integrated circuits designed for creating step-down switching regulators (buck converters) with ease and convenience. All models in this series can handle a 1.0 A load while maintaining excellent line and load regulation. These regulators come in fixed output voltages of 3.3 V, 5.0 V, 12 V, and 15 V, and there’s also an adjustable output version. They are engineered to minimize the need for external components, simplifying power supply design. Various inductor manufacturers offer standard series of inductors optimized for use with LM2575.
As a switch-mode power supply, the LM2575 converter boasts significantly higher efficiency compared to popular three-terminal linear regulators, especially with higher input voltages. Often, the LM2575 dissipates so little power that no heatsink is required, or a much smaller one can be used. Its features include a guaranteed ±4% tolerance on output voltage within specified input voltages and load conditions. Additionally, it offers ±10% tolerance on the oscillator frequency (±2% over 0°C to 125°C). The LM2575 includes external shutdown with an 80 A typical standby current. The output switch incorporates cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown, ensuring complete protection under fault conditions.
